Author’s Information
Muranaka Rie was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1958. She is a children's literature author and professor at Notre Dame Seishin University. She won the Noma Children's Literature Award for "Onee-chan" (Rironsha), the Japan Children's Writers Association Award for "Char Siu no Tsuki" (Komine Shoten), and the Tsubota Joji Literature Award for "Arara no Hata" (Arara Field). Her picture books include "The Gift from the Strawberry House" (Sekai Bunka Publishing). She has also edited and published "Picture Book Readings Connecting Female Prisoners with Their Children" (Kamogawa Publishing), and has been actively holding picture book readings at various venues for many years.
Shirato Akiko was born in Tokyo in 1970. She is an illustrator. After working for a financial company for four years, she began living with rabbits and decided to pursue a career in illustration, hoping to convey their charm. She has worked extensively on rabbit illustrations, including covers and illustrations for rabbit magazines, packaging for small animal food products, and signage for veterinary clinics. This is her first children's book.
