Abstract

Hotaru Yuyami, a picture book author, is left heartbroken after the death of her beloved dog, Hanako. One day, while staring absentmindedly at a pink mushroom growing in her garden, it suddenly begins to move—and to her surprise, it turns out to be a strange little dog with one ear made of mushroom: Mushroom Pup.As they begin living together, this gentle creature, who offers his affection so purely, slowly warms Hotaru’s frozen heart, bringing comfort and healing into her quiet life.

Author’s Information

A manga artist from Osaka Prefecture, she made her debut in 2010. Her representative work, "Mushroom Dog," won the Bronze Ryusho Award at the 7th Ryujin Awards. The work was adapted into a TV anime series in October 2024, with a total of 12 episodes broadcast.
